PSA: if you're concerned about electric costs rising, see if your town is part of a municipal aggregation program

My town is on the list and we are all desperately trying to get AWAY from aggregation..

We were all automatically enrolled in NextEra "local" aggregation and our monthly bills doubled. In fact so many people were outraged at our municipal aggregation program that they had to include reasons for our increase in the FAQ.

How much will CLC Local Green℠ add to my monthly electric bill?

To estimate how much enrolling in CLC Local Green℠ will add to your monthly electric bill, enter your average monthly kilowatt-hours (kWh) in the below calculator. Once you hit the "Submit" button, the table below will show the total additional cost of switching to CLC Local Green℠ (versus the Compact's standard green aggregation power supply) based on kWh usage you enter.

So while some towns will see a savings from the aggregation programs, many of us are buried under the higher costs.

If you live in an area that has seen a decrease from this program you are lucky.

In our town we have a 20% increase in customers whose power was shut off for lack of payment. The payment assistance plans offered by the state only apply to seriously low income families. We have had two town hall meetings to address the unbelievable increase in energy costs from this program.
