Purchase Help Thread (2017-07-25)

I was really considering the PXC 550's from Sennhaiser as they (apparently) have a better sound quality. I went out to Best Buy to try them on and was extremely disappointed with just how uncomfortable and small they were around the ear. I went with the QC35 in a heartbeat.

While I never did get to hear the ANC (active noise cancellation) for the PXC550, I didn't care. I know they aren't as good as Bose's ANC, and even if they were better I'd still go with the Bose headphone. You won't find a more comfortable headphone out there.

I was stuck on what to buy like you for months, so here's a list of some pro's and con's to help you out. I'd absolutely recommend trying out the QC35 and some other headphones so you get a bigger picture.

Pro's -literally the most comfortable headset I've ever worn. Could wear all day -Battery lasts 20+ hours -Quality is outstanding to my untrained ear -ANC makes listening to music/videos a dream, especially when it's noisy. -Controls on the side of the headphone are very user friendly. -You can use the back up cable to listen to music even when the headphone is dead, but the ANC won't work.

(A quick reflection on the ANC, you'll come to see that it's not AMAZING after a few weeks. Machine noises like air conditioning or the hum of a car on a long ride will disappear, but voices will come through. What I can say is that you can't hear shit if you've got the volume 4+ notches on an iphone)

Con's -the smallest setting is just a teeny tiny but too big sometimes -Connecting the headset to a homebuilt PC with non-standard bluetooth drivers is not gonna happen, especially with windows 7. I'm pretty sure it works with windows 8 and 10, though.
