Question Thread - September 05, 2019

I'm consider applying for the Chase IHG credit card, however, there is a good chance I might get denied just given how much cards/inquiries I've had the past two years. I'm 3/24 however. I plan to the following:

  1. Apply for Chase IHG Card. If approved, then great!
  2. If not approved, then call recon. If approved, then great!
  3. If still not approved, then wait until my credit report is updated in 2 weeks (2 inquiries drop off). Call recon with updated credit report hoping they can see it. If approved, then great!
  4. If still not approved, then apply again within 30 days with the updated credit report.

I'm wondering if anyone can comment on this plan. Specifically whether:

  1. Applying for the same card within 30 days is possible
  2. Whether recon can see an updated credit report without a hard pull
  3. Whether the plan is stupid/impossible/wtf?
