Quite extreme case of dry gangrene that caused tissue necrosis (this time no further information, but an amputation is the most realistic thing to do in my opinion)

I’ve looked after a few people with feets like this. Most of them survived on paracetamol and rarely complained about pain. We had a lady who came in with a black foot and eventually it auto amputated. Because she got to see the process from start to finish, she never got any phantom leg pains. The theory is because her brain saw it and got to process each stage. Whereas in a planned amputation the person often continues to have phantom pain because their brain still thinks it’s there.

You can test this yourself but in a much simpler manner. Stand in front of a mirror and put a pair of glasses on your head resting, but not over your eyes. Go about your business and some time late remove the glasses but not in front of a mirror and trying not to look at them. Wait a while and you’ll feel like they are still on your head.
