My name is Benny and I enjoy sports, sneakers, cars and video games (obviously). I've owned a 3DS XL (which I returned), a 3DS (which I had to sell) and now I own a N3DSXL and I'm super happy. The hinges don't feel flimsy (main reason I returned the 3ds xl) and the 3DS is super stable (main reason I sold the 3DS...that and I was broke). I decided to join this community shortly after purchasing my N3DSXL to keep up to date with news and obtain other random pieces of info.
I'm interested in this sub because I see that it's been exploding in popularity lately, yet doesn't seem to have a strong Mod team. I love coming here for 3DS News and little odds and ends of information that are sprinkled here and there. I also enjoyed seeing other people's decals they put on their 3DS but I know those kinds of posts are not allowed anymore.
I've never moderated on Reddit before, just some random forums.
I spend a good amount of my day on Reddit (mostly /r/Nintendo, /r/WiiU, /r/3DS and /r/PS4. The only non gaming subreddits I frequent are /r/Subaru and /r/Sneakers). It won't be for hours on end more like short bursts through out my entire day. Wake up and drop a morning deuce? Time to check Reddit. Got 10 minutes of free time at work? Time to check Reddit. Girlfriend wants to get freaky? Hold on, time to ch- Okay, maybe I can wait 30 minutes...more like 5 minutes...okay I'll be on Reddit in 45 seconds. I'm in Eastern time and I'm most active on Reddit from like 10am-2pm and then 1am-3am. From 2pm-Midnight (time I'm at work) I check Reddit almost once an hour I'd say, but don't tell my boss that.
I was actually thinking the other day that this sub could improve from having more moderators. An example is, a few weeks ago people (even myself) were posting pictures of our decal skins we got from certain websites. The next day I read that moderators were going to ban these types of posts because they saw it as potential promotion. I'm totally cool with that, I'm not even slightly upset by that. I just realized it was tough for the moderators because I'd keep seeing decals being posted for the next few weeks.
Also, almost every hour I see some sort of game recommendation post. It's obviously in the sidebar that those types of posts aren't allowed yet I still see them 24/7. I know having more moderators would help remove these redundant posts.
Favorite 3DS game at the moment is Pokemon: Alpha Sapphire. I've barely played my 3 other games (3D Mario Land, Mario Kart 7 and New Super Mario Bros) because I've been so obsessed with AS.
Unfortunately I have no experience with CSS or any type of website designing
I think this is a great subreddit. I stay up to date with all types of 3DS news. I've noticed that this community is very quick to hit your post with the downvote button tho.
