I am posting this here on March 7th because I don't want it to be seen by too many people until after the show, since maybe it will actually happen
How I’d solve the issue of the main event of WM 31
The problem:
Brock Lesnar has been given the biggest monster heel push in history, apparently so that a new baby-face megastar will be created when he defeats Brock, preferably at WrestleMania
If Brock is leaving WWE, this needs to happen at WM or on Raw the night after
It is very likely that the challenger – Reigns, who is supposed to get the mega face push – will be booed out of the stadium by the smarky WM crowd as they cheer Lesnar like a face, thus ruining the big moment for which The Streak was sacrificed
Or the crowd might just shit all over the entire match, like WM 20, which also would ruin the big moment
WWE cannot add anyone to the match [except maybe Mr. MITB Seth Rollins, who is a heel] because they did that last year – and no way are they letting “the marks” dictate to them the WM main event twice in a row
Potential solutions:
Reigns wins and hopefully the crowd is too big to be overly smarky [most likely]
Re-sign Brock and save the push for someone else down the line [BTW maybe it’s not the smartest move on WWE’s part to have contracts end right after WM]
Re-sign Brock long-term and turn him face [would be great if it wasn’t for the streak]
Brock beats Reigns and loses to someone on Raw the next night [but that makes Reigns look like a chump and they don’t currently have a proper star to give that honor – it would be wasted on Cena [too old] and Bryan [already wildly popular, doesn’t need the rub] unless it was a total zero to hero deal for someone like Cesaro or maybe Ambrose avenging his friend]
Seth cashes in like a heel on the whoever wins [would not accomplish anything, whether Seth wins or loses]
My solution:
The match starts with a stare-down into a shoving contest
Reigns is pushed into and bounces off the ropes and he takes a huge risk and goes for a spear right at the start of the match!
But Brock is an experienced fighter and is prepared for this – he catches Reigns in the Kimura!
Reigns puts up a struggle but it is locked in and Reigns must tap The crowd is shocked that the main event of WM lasted under a minute
Reigns is pissed; Brock is laughing
Seth Rollins’ music hits!
[Maybe he is coerced by the authority because they can’t let their show end like that, or maybe he is acting on his own]
Keep in mind Brock just had a match but he is not tired or hurt from it
But Seth had a grueling, valiantly fought contest earlier that night [maybe even the previous match]
Seth cashes in!
But Reigns, feeling angry and humiliated, takes his frustrations out on Seth – beats him up badly [attack from behind, maybe with a chair] and leaves
Seth is asked if he still wants to start the match and he says yes [he is either acting on his own accord in a similar situation to when Mr. Kennedy defended his briefcase against Edge [“Ring the fucking bell!”] or is coerced by the authority]
Either way, Seth is instantly seen as a huge face by everybody watching
He puts up a courageous fight and somehow conquers the beast to end the show
Aftermath
Reigns is now a heel on a rampage, and he has an out for his loss – he didn’t get beat up, simply made a mistake and got caught, just like Brock did in his first fight with Mir
Seth is now the top face [if you don’t think he is capable, remember that people also said he was not capable of being a heel, and he was going to be the forgotten member of The Shield and look how that turned out, besides his moveset is befitting of a face [minus the curb stomp]]
