Racist tried to defend the Confederate flag

I have ancestors who fought on both sides of the Civil War and I’m very comfortable admitting that I am utterly ashamed of those who fought on the side of the South. They are a scourge upon my family line and it’s best that they remain forgotten. Whatever their reasons were for fighting for the South, I don’t care to discover them.

In my experience, anyone who has trouble admitting that is a racist, whether they’re open about it or not. Anyone who touts the “it’s my heritage” line is either a racist or incredibly ignorant/misled. I think it’s anti-American and simply antithetical to the values that this nation should represent to wave a Confederate flag.
