The rapid increase of independent storefronts and streaming services for various forms of media are making piracy a much more attractive option.

Its nothing like that at all though. First of all Tlthere is no monopoly, unless you call a company wanting to be the ones to host, market and stream their own products. If so, that isnt a monopoly in the slightest and if you think that there will ever be a unified streaming service that plays everything.... Well then everybody keep doing what they are doing and that, which is what an actual monopoly actually is will be a reality in a few short years.

You see, the most laughable thing about reading your posts on this sub is that you honestly believe that the film and music industry are in a better place today then it was 20 years ago. Oh man, as if youre winning eh? "We destroyed traditional television with its hundreds of channels!" To what gain? Oh, instead of hundreds of stations you get five. And in 5 years it'll be two. All that happens is that the industry consolidates and by a proxy they become ludicrously huge that there will be no chance to go up against them. Seriously, try starting your own music festival to go up against the likes of say.... Live nation. You wont, you cant, stick a fork in it cause its dead. Long live the horrors of traditional media, long live high prices with re-sell rights, long live choice.
