Real Talk From A Pro Gamer

Ah yes, the TTK automatically = skilled/not skilled(depending on who you ask) argument, just like skill can be argued for making a kill in a high time to kill environment it can also be argued in a minimal time to kill environment, having accurate twitch reactions for a "twitch" shooter is a skill that requires some mastery no less than being able to draw and hold a bead on someone in a high TTK environment like halo for example. They are different skillsets but theres a strange mentality hitting many gaming cultures that one is more skillful than the other, theyre not even related though and sit in different parts of how our mind works, one is an eagle eye, the other is able to track.

Different genres of shooters need to quit being compared to each other, theres so much variety that each subset has different skill requirements to reach the ceiling of and to compare which skillsets are better is apples to oranges to brocolli. Having exceptional twitch reactions will take you far in counterstrike, lauded as one of the largest competitive scenes in gaming, but you dont need too much tracking skills as its about who saw what first more than anything. Battlefield can reward you for twitch reactions but it wont be the thing that wins games, exceptional teamwork and shotcalling will get you more than anything else, knowing how to manipulate an eneny force and the map as it evolves in game will give you the edge more than being the quickest or most accurate gunner, that strategic mindset is also a highly rewarded skill, when used in confines of games that require it. Halo will reward you for map knowledge due to weapon placements and will reward you for having the better tracking capabilities, twitch reactions can help but are nowhere near the end all be all if ypu have superior map knowledge and tracking skills.

I get where the guy is coming from, the game he started no longer exists and has changed, thats a valid point of contention, trying to call something skill-less though when the skills required actually changed altogether though is not a great argument, for his situation he has a valid overall point but the specifics are just the same rhetoric being used to bash a game for the sake of bashing and lacking respect for the skillsets of others.
