Why do recruiters never name the company when reaching out?

Lol this is 3rd party, contingent recruiter low-grade shit. You’re probably talking to a contingent (meaning they only get paid if they place someone aka they are trying to get you to take a job that isn’t best for you, it’s best for THEM), former jock. His manager is giving him advice like “crush it!”, and “lock it down!”. Tbf his mgr is a 28yo short man who works out a lot and dates broken high school girls. If a recruiter won’t tell you the name of the company in the first call, just hang up and block the number. If they work directly for the company then obviously they’ll say so. And if not, ask if they are retained by the hiring company. If not an employee of the hiring company, or on a retainer, then hang up and know you dodged a bullet.
