I have an ex. We had been together for about 10 years at this point. I was in the process of leaving him for many many reasons.

We had a guy sleeping on it couch, he was the weed man for the neighborhood. He paid in weed I wasn't all about it and was already plotting my escape. It was a highly abusive relationship. Emotionally not as much physically.

We also had one of his fuck boys living in the guest house out back with his girlfriend. They followed him across the country.

The fuck boy and GF decided to Rob the weed man's cash and dip back to the east.

I had just gotten home, after a 12 hour day at work, ordered a pizza and fell asleep for a nap.

I woke up 20 minutes later to a shotgun in my face and weed man and a few of his friends about to shoot me.

Weed man was pretty level headed and realized that I wouldn't still be here of I had robbed him. He kept the cash in a pot in a cabinet. He wasn't bright.

I woke up, discovered my wallet was emptied out. My safe had been ripped out of the closet and given up on. It took a little time to figure out what happened. I just went to the guest house and tore it apart. We found a few journals that read like Mickey and Mallory wrote it.

I left the next day. Grabbed the dog and my computer and got an order of protection and moved in with my parents to figure out how to deal with the fallout. Turns out he had warrants and that took care of that. He fled the state after being released from pre-trial.

Weed man and I were good after that. There was so much going on, but I had brainwashed blinders on. Within weeks of the split everything came to light and I was beyond ashamed I had been so fucked up by him that it was just normal to me. 8 years later and I'm a whole new man in a healthy loving relationship with a true partner.
