Village in South Louisiana, population 900 something.

A guy drove his girlfriend to the rural dead end road I live on (1.5 miles away from the nearest single red light) with about 6 houses total on it.

He gets about halfway down the road directly in front of my house and stops in front of an abandoned barn then proceeds to start stabbing her, she apparently made it out of the car and ran the 150 or so yards back to the highway and the guy took off in the opposite direction.

Someone called the cops and took her to the hospital. He got caught a few weeks later IIRC.

Down the same road, a year later the husband and wife living at the dead end split up, wife takes the 3 kids and moves to another city.

One night I'm outside spotlighting for armadillos and hear a gunshot off in the distance. 30 mins later a cop and ambulance pass me and head in their direction.

Dude shot himself in the house. Dont know for sure if the shot I heard was the one that killed him but it was the only one I heard other than mine.
