Redditors who quit their jobs in a blaze of glory, what's your story?

It wasn't necessarily a job. Decided one day to say fuck it and threw everything away and moved to another state half way across the country with nothing buy a change of clothes and a hard drive. Ended up fixing some guys printer, which lead to organizing his office, which lead to automating his business, etc. Which ended up with me living in his house in basically a pantry room. Talked to the health department and took a bunch of classes, and ended up getting a certification that usually takes 6 years to get in a month. Partially due to the guy using a piece of experimental equipment that they wanted data on. Went through and completely remodeled his business. I had the certifications to run his business legitimately, which he didn't have before. Fixed his finances, set up new marketing avenues. Took him from 10k to 30k a month in 6 months. The whole time I'm not getting paid, even though I told him my hourly rate at the beginning. Basic room and board. Guy keeps telling me he's going to pay me, then he says he's going to give me one of his trucks, then he's going to make me his partner and that he's doing the paperwork. Did I mention the guy was an alcoholic. So sometimes he would end up in his room for a few days and never leave. I'm basically running this guys company. I'm going out in the field, running his employees, doing extra work that he hadn't before because he didn't have the certs. I tried to get him to be sober with somewhat successful results. I fire a guy because he's not reliable. A few days later the guy gives the guy I fired the truck he promised me. For six months I'd be scrounging every penny I could get my hands on, so I could have enough for a taxi (this place was in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere) and to pay for a bus back to where I came from. Called the health department and told them I don't work there anymore so he lost his certs. Took my hard drive with me, that had the whole set up for the automation and running the business. Demanded I get paid or I was leaving. He gave me a few grand, and I left anyways. Almost everything I had done was erased in an instant. Last I checked he died a few years later from an alcohol related problem.
