Redditors who have successfully evaded/ran from the cops, how did you do it?

I grew up in Vancouver, Canada (a really weed friendly city). Anyways, 5 years ago, I was a senior in high school. A couple of friends and I were openly blazing from a bong in the park next to our school at about 11 pm. (We did this all of the time because it was a fairly affluent neighborhood that cops never came around) Anyways, a cop drives by us super slowly and proceeds to drive another 20-30 feet, turns on his lights, and pulls a U-turn. As soon as I see the lights go on and him prepare to make a U, I was in super stealth mode and told them to get up and book it.

We scattered out of their so quickly bong in hand and into the nearest back alley. At this point I can see the cop is coming for us with lights and siren on. So while we're running, I tell my other two friends to split up, distract the guy, and we'll all meet up at my house later. Anyways, we all went different ways and the cop comes after me. (keep in mind that I'm a 5'3 woman who weighed about 100 pounds at the time) I ran through three or four alleys, saw tall garbage cans leaning up on a fence, hopped on them, and threw myself over into a backyard where a house was being built. I was wearing gym shorts and scraped my leg so badly but at this point I didn't even notice. The cop sees me jump this fence and speeds to the end of the alley so he can come around and catch me in front of the construction site.

At this point I'm like "fuck no" so I absolutely book it from the backyard to the front of this construction site and run for about 5 minutes straight with all of the adrenaline my body has through streets and random back alleys. Needless to say, I finally hear no sirens after hiding beside someones garage in a back alley for about 10 minutes. I walk around, look at the street sign, and realized I'm about a 15 minute walk from the school. At this point I was shaking so I went to another alley, hid there, and called my mom to come pick me up. She shows up about 20 minutes later in the back alley, picks me up, and drives me home. I'm sitting in the passenger seat and we end up driving up beside the cop car that had chased me (the streets are empty at this point) I bent over and told my mom to look forward. We make it home no problem. She laughs and takes away my phone for a week. I have a great mom.
