Relationships and marriage in games

The things you're describing as subtleties can be implied and ascertained from the other scenes between Triss and Geralt. You're talking about the implications of sex and the meaning it has between the characters. It's not important to shove some tits in the viewer's face in the way they go about it for any reason apart from fan service though.

As I've said in other comments, there are ways to include nudity, sex scenes, and other mature themes that come across in a mature way. Given that I've been really happy with the maturity of how the story is handling Triss as a love interest, it just is completely out of sync when they try to show intimacy between them. Implying or assuring me that there's "subtlety" in those scenes and the way they're crafted isn't really helping me buy it- everything you're saying is present in subtext during the sex scenes is established elsewhere through dialog and better writing. That's the reason this subtext exists. I have an issue with the raw execution of it because it feels like it's catering to a less mature audience to stimulate them rather than to make the sex they're having important to the story.

You could make porn actors act out a sex scene in a series like House of Cards, where every sex scene in it has a really important way it's composed because it's saying something about the two character rather than just showing them fuck for the hell of it because they think viewers love it. It would mute the message. If we're analyzing the pure content in the video games alone, it's blatantly mishandled and I can't accept the "read the books/other media that handles the sex better" argument because that's not the problem I have with it.
