Residents across NJ vote ‘yes’ on pricey school construction projects: Montclair voters approve a hefty $188M package, while locals statewide approve 10 out of 11 proposals

I wonder how that’s going to affect current residents & their taxes. Where are they getting that kind of money? I mean taxes are high in that area as is, are they going to raise it more?

I remember when I was in HS and that old ford plant got knocked down there was rumors they would build a school uniting, South Edison, North Edison and Metuchen. It was believable too because they had the space for a new state of the art school, and an athletic complex too. It’s pretty accessible as well. Instead we got Top Golf, LA Fitness, Sam’s Club, and restaurants lol. That would’ve been nice to see tho.

I wonder if those who were outraged about student loan forgiveness will be outraged here because they don’t have kids that’ll be attending that school they wish to build or expand on.
