The richest 1% own 50% of stocks held by American households

Why wouldn't they? It is directly in the workers interest to grow the business if they own stocks in it.

Are you kidding me. A worker has no interest to grow the business if he owns stock in it. Look at Amazon or any big tech company the hands out stock options. The moment they get the highest price bam there goes huge waves of cash outs.

The only difference between workers owning part of the company and investors is that no company will ever be able to keep enough of its stock with the workers for any amount of time without spending literally all their money to buy back and regive their stock to their workers.
