AITA for wasting food?

No A-holes here

It seems like you have a tendency to go for sweets or bready type things, and your boyfriend has an aversion to those kinds of foods. He seems to like whole foods more (meat, cheese, vegetables and fruit). I also like snacks and baked goods a lot, as well as sugary drinks and prefer them most of the time over real meals.

Food and groceries is just a point of compromise I guess. Since you’re living together it’s important to have things that you both like that you’ll consume at home. Food waste in households is pretty common. Figuring out a system that works takes some time.

Sometimes, people end up buying things they don’t need, like extra sweets or extra vegetables. If you find yourself with a lot of extra things that end up being tossed out, just try to buy less of them next time. Sometimes it’s easy to buy more of a lot of something because you’re thinking about sharing them with your partner. If you know your partner doesn’t like sweets or vegetables, buy enough just for yourself.
