[Routine help] Persistent, painful acne on cheeks since high school

I know this is totally off topic, but i just thought this comment was kinda funny and cute. But it's true! OP has really pretty eyes.

Okay, now back on topic.

Cleansers

I agree with a lot of what people have been saying on here. I would recommend trying some more gentle cleansers. I recommend the Hadalabo Foaming Cleanser. It feels great on the skin and is really gentle. Another good option is the Cerave Foaming cleanser that others have mentioned. But you did mention that your skin is a bit dry? In that case, gel cleansers might be better for you since it doesn't strip off oil as much. I like the Cosrx Low pH cleanser.

Exfoliants

I think you could potentially benefit from using a low % BHA and AHA. They help exfoliate the skin. They'll make you purge as it forces all the stuff in your pores to come out, but you have to stick with it. It will help you. Just make sure it's purging and not breakouts. And if you do start using a BHA and AHA, I highly recommend you don't start using it all at once. It will over exfoliate your skin and strip it down which will break you out even more. Start off with a BHA, use it once every other day at night. And then slowly increase usage as your skin adjusts to the exfoliant.
