Rubin live tweets the Cenk/Shapiro debate @ Politicon

honest question with regards to a tiny thing in your first paragraph, what political outlet doesnt have obvious bias? its unavoidable, and i dont think its necessarily a bad thing if you diversify where you get your information instead of relying on one source. im the furthest thing from a right winger as you can get but i still check out fox, breitbart, etc. somewhat often just to get a feel for how they're covering things. and i despise centrist outlets like cnn, msnbc, nyt, the stuff you hear called "msm" all the time. which, they're always painted as left wing but i find them all to be very centrist with some maybe leaning slightly left. even then their liberal leaning reporters, for the most part, are neoliberal at best. and then CNN hires the likes of jeffery lord and others to make sure theres always someone around defending trump, msnbc's top show is spearheaded by joe fucking scarborough, etc. and then youve got actual left wing outlets like TYT and everyone within their network, the intercept, etc etc. the bias within all of these networks, and pretty much every other network i havent mentioned, is unavoidable and really obvious if you pay any attention whatsoever. so thats why i think the key is looking at how stories are covered across multiple publications. that doesnt mean i think TYT is great, your criticisms of them are pretty much valid, but i wouldn't cut them out for doing something every other publication does. i certainly dont follow them as much as i might have a couple years ago because of the stuff you've brought up, but i still check in because like i said absorbing information from multiple sources across the spectrum is imo a good way to prevent creating an insulated perspective. too many people rely on just one outlet for everything and they end up thinking everyone has the same view they do because they've created a bubble for themselves. just something to think about.
