Well said. This is the kind of democracy we should all aspire to, although it would be quite difficult for a country as populous and complex as Russia, or even Italy (but it's working in Switzerland, so it does work in certain circumstances).

I think first there must be a change in the education system, so that people's mentality will change as well. Right now most people are disinterested in politics (and overall, in anything that happens outside of their lives), and aren't even aware of their rights/duties. If they were aware of the current events and of their power as individuals, I'm pretty sure they could do a better job than most politicians (who happen to be as ignorant as the masses most of the time).
