safe to travel? / areas not to miss outside of Stockholm

I'm not so sure about that site, what I could see from a quick glimpse at the sight most Swedish deaths from incidents were abroad. Altough, I didn't get very much into it as I couldn't really find a way to get a more detailed view about every incident or whatever. UNODC's global study (2012) gave the U.S a rate of 3.8 (intentional homicide per 100,000 population) and Sweden a rate of 0.7.

However, more to the topic. If you were to stay in Stockholm, just like the above the poster I would really recommend taking a tour in the Riksdag (the swedish parliament).

I'd also recommend Skansen, an open-air museum and zoo in that is meant to show the way of life in Sweden before the industrial era.

Like any other city there also lots of musems, my favorite is the Vasa Museum which displays the only (almost) intact 17th century ship that has ever been salvaged. But there are plenty more | other link. The grand Swedish Museum of Natural History, the Army Museum which displays the military history of Sweden or the Nobel museum which tells you the story of the Nobel Prize, Nobel laureates but also of the founder Alfred Nobel.

In Södertälje City, (still in Stockholm County) you will find my favorite destination as a kid - Tom Tits which is a (I guess) a science museum but more touch things and explore things on your own rather than just reading signs and looking at displays.
