I saw Mortal Engines at a Q and A with Peter Jackson. AMA

In case I mess up the spoiler tags, I'm about to spoil the ending of the first book.

>! Valentine kills Anna Fang and destroys the ATL air fleet, Tom and Hester follow him back to London in the Jenny Haniver, meanwhile on London the Historian guild defend the museum against the Engineer Guild's soldiers and stalkers giving Katherine and Bevis time to climb an old stair up to St Paul's with a bomb. Tom drops Hester on top of London, and then in the Jenny Tom fights and destroys the 13th floor elevator, however it's wreckage hits London and kills Bevis. Hester fails and is captured and brought to Valentine and Crome, but is saved by Katherine who by this point knows that she's her sister, by standing in the way of Valentine's sword, meaning Valentine kills her instead, she then falls on the weapon's controls and causes it to aim in on itself. When she's dying Valentine realises that he's now done terrible things for nothing and his boss Crome goes on a mad rant about the future of municipal darwinism as the oldtech weapon overloads aiming in on itself. Valentine carrying Katherine then helps Hester escape back to the Jenny, but by then Katherine is definitely dead so Valentine stays behind to die with his city. London then explodes killing (most of) it's innocent population, but Tom and Hester above in the Jenny are both traumatised by the whole experience and refuse to think of themselves as heroes and realise all they have left now is eachother. !<

Also does London get chased by a bigger city (Bayreuth) that wants to eat it, like London ate a smaller city at the beginning?
