Something needs to change

This is for some of the comments on the validity of my premium cost:

I am a small business owner in Florida (which loses carriers each year limiting underwriting options), I have less then 10 employees = some of the highest premiums with zero options (except the ACA, which is a great option if you are a 1099, young and or you have no kids).

What most folks don't understand (or really dig into your HC costs) is that if you have insurance thru an employer, they are paying a portion of your premium, hence you never see the full cost of your premium (try going on Cobra in between a job - full prior premium plus 15% admin fees).

Next time you see your insurance premium breakdown on your pay stubs, think about what your employer is writing a check for each month.
We have currently 8 full time employees on our insurance plan, each month a check goes to United for over 15k (not even mentioning pay roll taxes, workman comp, etc, etc).

I have been paying for health care since 1985, and regardless of whatever spineless admin is in office, the costs have escalated each and every year.

It gets worse as they continue to figure out billing ways to increase costs (co-insurance used to reference more then one policy), now it is a made up sku (my personal op) to make you more responsible for more costs outside of your deductible or co pays.

Remember when co pays were it and you never saw a bill after? Long gone.

We are the only industrial nation without some form of universal health care, it is mindboggling (unless you turn 65), then Medicare kicks in and subsidized health care is all good in the eyes of folks who love to scream socialized health care is bad (at the mere mention of single pay health care).

When your house fights horrific life threatening health issues, fighting the mammoth health care industry is mentally and physically exhausting, worse: the emotional toll
