From what I can remember, Kate is kidnapped the night Mr. Harris brings her home after she drank too much. Still wasted, she witnesses her mother cheating on her stepfather and flees. We then see her wake in a locked room - kidnapped.

However, in the latest episode, Kates mother states she invited Mr. Harris on the hunting trip for bringing Kate home safe the night she drank too much. Thanking him for his discretion. Have I missed a large plot point? I'm lost and it is bothering me!
