Try to talk more. Talk about current issues and events in the kids lives. For example, for the last two days I have been talking about Childrens Day and the kids and I just chatted about whatever. I learned alot. They get the presents and money and i asked them what they buy with the money they get and they explained all kind of things from BTS music, and they buy cash cards from the convenience store and load the money into their phones for mobile games (even my coteacher didnt know this was a thing the kids could do). And we talked about the best presents they ever got, which led to me talking about some of the presents I got as a kid, and I pulled up some pictures of the old original nintendo and we all had a pretty good laugh about that with only 2 buttons A or B. Recently we also talked about famous people and I asked them who they think the most famous people in the world are. Just chit chat.
