Sec+ this Friday

So I just got done with the test and passed with a 759! I unfortunately woke up this morning with a bug that had me running a fever and felling pretty sick. There wasn't a way to reschedule this close to the exam time so I had to go and take it anyway. It was definitely a little tougher than expected. Compared to the questions offered by Darril Gibson the wording on SY0-401 was a little more complicated. Take your time and read through each question more than once and dissect it to figure out what they're asking. They do fluff the questions with a lot of extra wording that isn't really needed. My exam started out with 5 performance based questions. 2 were about authentication types, giving examples of authentication and then matching with the associated types. There was one about diagnosing a type of attack based on a readout given on a tablet, and then configuring the network to protect against this type of attack again. One I was given scenarios about different kinds of attacks and had to choose which attack based on what happened, and who the targets were. And the final one was about Access Control Lists. The multiple choice was a wide variety of topics, but definitely make sure that you know the different types of attacks, portals, the encryption and hashing methods, and have a good general knowledge about operational security. There were some oddball Linux questions thrown at me here and there and I had no idea what to answer for them. But that's mainly what my test focused on, the important thing is being able to dissect the questions and understand what they're asking. If you study the materials provided by Darril Gibson, abd develop a good general knowledge of the topics, you should be able to pass the test. Good luck to you whenever you take it, keep me updated with how you do! If you have any other questions about the exam, feel free to ask.
