Right, we only shifted the entire country hugely to the left. We made gay marriage acceptable, made pot legalization acceptable, and started to make progress on trans rights.

Yet attach encryption. Showed no interest in doing anything about the mass spying once Obama took the White House. Attack our right to bear arms. See no issues explicitly attacking the right of poor and minorities to own firmarms as seen in NYC and Chicago. See no issue with underfunding the public defenders office. See no issue with the fact that unless you are upper middle class you can't afford a lawyer.

The Democrats are liberal.

Speaking as a bisexual, not in the fucking least. They give us a fucking pat on the head and tell us they are helping us, yet see no issue taking away our rights to defend ourselves.

Also in the sex area, they still have no issues attacking sex workers or kink. So yes, they very much do care what consenting adults do sexually.

So if by "liberal" you mean giving us the LGBT community and minorities a pat on the head before telling us to sit in the corner, then you are right, they are liberal. Because for you that is where liberal begins and ends.
