Good Browncoat,
Having dated several women who were themselves Browncoats, as well as being the lone man out in my group of friends who all still love Firefly but me as well as having to defend myself against gamers at conventions, I will respectfully retort in spoilers below.
I was going to point out that in ESftSM the problem was even though you could erase the memories of events, that the personality "patterns / matrix" in your mind would lead you to make the same mistakes (hence to me the bittersweet ending of the film) and thus it would be just as effective as using the neuralizer from MiB (Like I wanted to use on myself on Alien Resurrection until years later when I grew to love the shitty movie for Joss's writing / characters alone), until I was thinking that you WOULD want the same personality reaction to the movie, whereas the MiB neuralizer causes brain damage and thus different reactions.
When you love something (even with the episodes airing out of fucking order) only to see it die in your face for NO story progression, your heart dies inside. I took off my Browncoat that day - I was defeated at Serenity.
