[Serious]Men that have been abused by women, what's your story?

When I was in college, I got into an argument with my girlfriend at the time who was really drunk. I don't even remember what the argument was about, but it was something really stupid. In the heat of the moment, she took two swings at me and hit me, with closed fists on the side of my head. She was pretty small, but those punches hurt pretty bad and had my ears ringing.

Immediately after she did it, she took a step back and covered her mouth in shock. It was the first time I had ever been intentionally hit by girl before in my life. I took a breath and told her to get out of my room. At that point she had gone from belligerent, to sobbing and apologetic. I walked over to the door, opened it, and told her that she should go sleep in her dorm room that night.

She walked out, but stayed near my door, banging and crying for me to forgive her. I was pretty upset at that point, but also still shocked at what happened. Finally she left and I went to sleep figuring that we would deal with it in the morning when she was sober.

The next day I get a call from her cousin. Apparently security was called because of the yelling and they found her crying in the lounge. She was underage at the time and because of the complaint and the fact that she refused to cooperate with them, they took her to some detox center in the next town.

I ended up driving to the place to pick her up and even though she had gotten physical with me, I wasn't upset at her anymore. I loved her too much. I felt bad, and partly responsible for her having to go there and the underage drinking tickets she got. We wee together for another two years after that, and during that time we had arguments, but never any that escalated to that point.
