We didn't really date, but someone else shared a similar story so... I've changed a few details of this story.

It was the last week of senior year before exams. I had handed in all my work and was bored.

I'd heard rumors that the head of the History Dept had a thing for some of the girls in the upper years. He was more than twice my age, reportedly single (divorced). I was curious what sex was like, having never even kissed a guy. He was alright looking.

So I started talking to him. Turned out he lived nearby. He got off early one day. I went over there. It's been years, so I'm not sure if we kissed the first time, but we did eventually. I went back a few times. Never ended up having sex.

I think I might have kept it up, but what stopped me was getting a job - that and the way he treated me. I had to ask him to stop doing something I was uncomfortable with more than once. And I wondered. I knew he wasn't well liked in the department, made some people uncomfortable.

So I said something.

He has a different career now.

Sometimes I wonder how different my life would be if none of this had happened.
