Piggybacking this thread for another chest SGA (arguably cheese). May be common knowledge...

If you're in a raid with a lot of people who have more than one character once you loot the chest you can change characters and load a new one into the raid so long as one person stays in and alive to keep the instance up and to revive people reloading back in you can grab the same chest on all three of your characters.

This way once you find the chest in the first or second door you can really quickly do some coordinated team juggling where everyone gets the contents on all 3 of their characters in exchange for a small amount of loading time, just make sure everyone is clear on who is currently assigned to stay behind and revive.

You can do also this on the thrallway chest though in this case you need two to stay behind (one in the chest room to keep it open and keep the chest around and one at the other end of the thrallway or all the way on the other side of the bridge depending upon if you wiped or not prior), but the two who stay behind can be rotated out so that everyone gets the chest on all characters for just one successful thrallway run. There is some sort of eventual chest timeout where the chest after the thrallway disappears. It seems about on the order of 10 minutes, though I've never timed it precisely... plenty of time for people to grab it on all 3 characters.

Of course, none of this works out in hard mode because of no revives, but since the chests are shared across both normal/hard instances it isn't really much of an issue if you were going to play normal mode first and then hard mode (which is actually not as useless as people think if they haven't yet gotten all the normal mode weapon drops they want. AFAIK you won't ever get the secondary/heavies (hunger of crota, black hammer, song of ir yut, etc) in hard mode, and doing hard mode first will blow your drop chance on normal mode without ever giving you a shot at the non-primary guns.
