Why the Shadar-Kai and Raven Queen are my favorite pieces of lore from WotC

They're trying to fit a character created as a god for a very specific setting (Nentir Vale/Points of Light) that got retroactively fitted into other settings... because that's what 4e lore did to many things (tieflings and dragonborn, most notably). Really they've done about the best they can to take all of the things that 4e lore changed and try to reconcile it with older lore that people cling to when thinking of the greater D&D multiverse, where the Raven Queen simply can't play as massive a role as she does in PoL.

Whether or not people (who post online) like the new amalgamation... since it's hit print, it'll likely end up being the favorite version until some new information comes out and people fight about that, too.
