[Shelburne] Donald Sterling is appealing the probate court decision that gave Shelly control of the family trust and authority to sell the Clippers.

He wasn't senile. And he wasn't even really being racist in the sense that he actually wanted to ban Black people from games. That recording captured a fight between a guy, and his mistress. In that fight, that guy was angry that his mistress was posting pics of herself with other men. He was jealous. Arguably insecure. Most of all, he was angry. In that fit of rage, he said some incredibly racist things, which were not to be construed literally. Sterling doesn't secretly wish that Black people didn't go to games. That's an absurd conclusion to draw that too many bandwagoners happily accepted just to be part of the group.

The man was angry and jealous that his girlfriend kept embarrassing him and undermining him (from his view) by posting pics of herself with younger (threatening) Black men. And he lashed out by taking advantage of their race in a fit of rage.

Inappropriate in any public setting. But in the privacy of your own home, being secretly recorded (which is against the law in the State of CA), who is to say what is right or wrong. Certainly nothing that deserves to get you fired from your job, or have a $2 billion asset taken from you (if you choose to see it that way).

Don't get me wrong. I am not a fan of his, and I prefer Ballmer. But some people really don't understand what that conversation was really about. I guarantee you that if your girlfriend pissed you off repeatedly by doing something with a Hmong guy online, and you were having what you thought was a private conversation in your home, you'd probably let a few "fucking Hmongs" fly out if the argument got heated enough. Anyone who has ever dated anyone has.
