'Shots fired' in Munich shopping centre

I was the passenger in an suv with my dad driving. We were going down a road in a park and stopped due to a sign when a man walked directly in front of us and started shooting away from us at a 45 degree angle toward the direction of some basketball courts (was supposedly gang/drug related). We just sat there as still as we could be and watched this man unload the entire mag of a .45 the turn around and run the other direction. No one got hurt, but to this day I go over that situation in my head and wonder what would have happened if my dad tried to run him over or if I had a ccw. I mean sure no one got hurt, but we didn't know that at the time and behind that basketball court was a little league baseball game going on. Should we have done something even though doing nothing was still a good choice this time? What if some kids were shot and we did absolutely nothing to help? I constantly question myself about this encounter and the decisions we made that day. I'm not sure why I'm writing all this, maybe I want someone else to answer my questions for me. Maybe it's because my dad and I never talked about what happened and have just put it in the back of our minds. I don't know, but your comment just reminded me of this and made me want to write about my experience.
