Sick of hearing about yoga.

Well yoga is being talked about everywhere. It’s only gaining in popularity and demand across the world. Besides the fact that yoga is a significant and meaningful practice to many people, (and OT’s purpose is to help people do what is meaningful to them) I think it’s a good thing to find and use an OT perspective in this next wave of holistic health practices. We can and SHOULD use our occupational science knowledge to help make yoga be rehabilitative/ habilitation for a wide range of diseases and disabilities.

All in all, the mindful movement as a whole is growing and the coming generation is really into it. You’re not going to stop hearing about it if that’s what you wish. Also it would be best for our profession to put ourselves in relevant positions so that we’re not left out getting a piece of the pie (like we are in so many other disciplines).
