Everyone needs to start advocating for themselves and through this you are advocating for the profession in regards to base salary. There is no reason starting salary should be anything under $45/hour

Thanks for the pep talk. But this post doesn’t make sense for many parts of the country.

You live in upstate New York and the figures you’re mentioning in this post reflect that. Go compare your areas averages to other areas in the country. $45 an hour isn’t happening in MANY parts of the country.

While the spirit of this post was nice…. It doesn’t really sit well with me for a student to tell me that there’s no reason I shouldn’t be making 100k because you know 6 therapists in upstate New York who do. And to stop bitching about making 80k because some people are making less. Because that was a helpful through apparently.

This post was really tone deaf. It’s really odd that you felt the need to speak on a profession that you’re not even a part of yet. And to speak on what someone else should or shouldn’t accept when you clearly have only considered your geographical area.
