So sick of the Springfield disrespect in gun stores

My first and only gun so far is a late 80s Springfield GI 1911, back when the slides were hand milled. Some boomer replaced all the interior parts with nice Wilson Combat and I think Nighthawk parts too, bought it for 625. Heavy son of a gun. never had a FTE or failed to feed, I'm probably going to keep this one till I die, with black Hogue grips it's just fuckin perfect.

Anyway in gun forums off the top of my head (mostly the various dedicated brand or model subreddits that I've been on the last 5 years), 2010s Remington handguns are shit on a lot, Kimbers are considered overpriced and bad QA even if they look amazing without rust, Smith&Wesson semi-autos are pretty much known as security guard guns. Taurus and HiPoint don't count because they're not really mainstream, just common because of price.

Springfield is criticized mostly in my experience because they aren't connected at all to the legendary M1903 manufacturer but charge a premium just for the name. Their XD line though is a toss up if I had to choose between the XD9 and a Beretta M9, it's a rebranded HS2000 and you aren't going to get the chance of that pesky "slide falling off after a few thousand rounds" issue that the older M9 had, although the Inox finish is sick.
