The Simple Solution to Traffic - CGP Grey

Nobody listens to those though. Just like then the M25 was a solid 70mph speed limit people still went 80 if it's clear day and road. Even when I see the variable speed limit say something like 50mph I still go like 60-70mph because I can't see any traffic in sight and it's been a couple miles since it told me to slow down, oftenly you won't see any traffic at all by the time the lowered speed limit has gone back up to the standard 70mph limit which is pretty annoying.

I know I'm part of the problem but when I do slow down to what it says not many other people do, and even when I keep going fast I oftenly don't end up in any traffic anyway. It doesn't make me want to slow down.

To stop those traffic jams on the M25 they simply need to just have a team of 2 cars to manually slow everyone down by blocking the lanes and going 40 mph or whatever. Doesn't even need to be a dedicated team, just get 2 nearby police cars to do it from about 10 miles before the jam. It won't be too hard but I guess they have their reasons not to.

Hopefully fully driverless cars are standard with new cars in 8 or so years anyway. Then a full ban on non driverless car sales in about 15 years. Then a full ban from manually driving your car just another 10 years after that. 25 years away, should be easily doable.
