It completely changed the way media is presented and sold. It was the first show to air, then later on sell the season on DVD. Nobody was doing that before because the network executives figured who is going to buy the DVD of a show they've already seen for free. I was in my late teens when that happened and every person I knew went out and bought that season 1 of the Chappelle show on DVD the day it released. After that every show came out on DVD. The other Creator Neil Brennan talked about it a little bit back on his old Joe Rogan experience podcast episode and the network didn't even fight them for royalties on DVD sales because they had so little faith in it producing any money.
