Most people have no idea what they're talking about and get their form advice from other beginners. As you say, form will change depending on how an individual is built.

You'd be best suited to a wider grip and a pronounced back arch to lower the ROM, both in terms of safety for the shoulders and weight lifted. Long forearms will put you in a really unfavourable position to bench.

Likewise with your curls. But barely anyone cares what people curl, they care what biceps look like, and you're not really disadvantaged appearance-wise.
