Social media causing depression and anxiety?

I’ve been dealing with depression/anxiety/OCD for quite a while now. I convinced myself to delete all social media aside from Reddit from my phone. It seems to have helped quite a bit.

Look.. take what I say with a big ole grain of salt. I’m a random internet user with no medical experience aside from obsessing over countless unconfirmed online articles.. that being said, I do feel quite a bit better since getting rid of FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc..

Why spend hours upon hours of you’re day looking at pictures of other people doing cool shit and having the time of their lives when you could put your phone down and do the same?

If you do end up giving it a try, here is what I would recommend:

Find a job that you enjoy at least somewhat, work your butt off at it regardless of whether or not you think it’s you’re dream job. Pick any hobby or skill that you are even remotely interested in and learn it. Lastly, and will all do respect, get you’re ass off the couch, especially on the weekends, and go do stuff!!
