Here's a song about the community I used to find on here when it was more DIY

There's such a disconnect when new fans, familiar with the easier-to-access albums of the easier-to-find acts can't recognize talent in developing artists they are going to love in 2 years or an artist they theoretically should love already just because they can't wrap their ears around lo-fi recording aesthetics.

there's no way of saying this without sounding like a dick but this statement is pretentious as fuck and just plain wrong.

I'm not going to love a song in 2 years just because it's recorded with a better mic and mixed. you say people can't wrap their ears around lo-fi but all DnD songs have been recorded with a single mic in a bedroom and most of the albums have a pretty loud background buzz. also a lot of JH song are barely audible because of the recording. and those are the most popular acts. so people definetively don't have problem with that.

the problem is when people who can't sing and can barely strum an instrument start spamming their poorly done recordings everywhere. fortunately it is harder to spam music in real life.

but yeah it's easier to blame people for not being DIY enough instead of admitting a lot of wanna-be folk punk internet players don't even bother learning how to play and sing properly.
