My thing is that some of it is going to come with retcon. Seeing as how they didn’t know how to present the darkness when d1 was being pushed, they’ve openly admitted to that. But there were also concept art of the tetrahedron ships before they admitted to this. Also before admitting to this there was lore of ulan tan and toland (drifter hasn’t arrived yet at this point pre d2 that I’m observing). This makes me think that they had very different plans for the tetrahedron ships all along. We called those ships the darkness.

Hell we’ve watched the darkness itself change mechanically speaking since d1 to d2. I’m not supporting the guy who claimed he talked to the anon guy and started talking about the veil and all that. I don’t believe that guy. However the formless one is canonical and without relating to that guy at all and the rest of his fan fiction “leaks” I’m just putting forth speculation that there may be small drops in the lore or ques to pick up that most overlook that may be telling us something. Similar to how savathun said she secretly engineered Quria in the new forsaken lore and it was just so off the cuff and quickly moved on from that nobody’s even looking at it as a big deal.

I’m suggesting that whatever rivals the ideologies of people like drifter and ulan tan would be the real end game big baddy, or the duality to the traveler itself. The darkness does not rival their ideology though. It’s purposeful. Almost needed if we are to survive what’s coming. So in that sense I assume the deep vs the sky is the same as the formless vs the form. The deep takes and the sky gives. The formless reduces and the form increases. It’s a game of plus and minus in shapes.
