So I got into destiny because I was a call of duty player in my late teens. As I grew older I started to become more and more burnt out on cod because of how hollow it really was beyond the surface (minus the campaigns in mw2 and black ops-haven’t revisited them but I remember thinking the story’s were well put together and executed a cinematic touch pretty well). So around the time I became aware of destiny I was looking for something more out of a pvp game. If any of y’all remember the oG showcase where deej showed off the pre alpha gameplay for like 12 minutes, went into legendaries and exotics, the different races and the pvp pve duality etc. It hit me right in the spot I didn’t know I wanted.
Lore wise. I had no idea you could read the grimoire cards online for a solid year. Hell, lol I tried to do vault of glass solo probably 11 times and had no idea how raids operated. I didn’t use Reddit or YouTube much for games back then bc I liked to explore it naturally but for the most part I was a full blown pvp guy. When I got curious about what a grim score was though? All that shit changed. Naturally I became engrossed in the last words lore… I had no idea how to get thorn and thought maybe I could find the secret or hint (having being a arcade player when mortal kombat 1 did the infamous reptile hint in its cabinet reissue I was just overjoyed with the idea of what if?… what if there was a secret here?) - so I poured over the thorn and last word lore. Trying to find a secret. Didn’t know then that I was going to eventually go onto having emblems in d1 like valor in darkness by the end of AoT. Didn’t know that I was going to be dissecting every lore drop. I had no idea I was a pvp nerd.
I say all of that to say this, thorn and last word wasn’t the reason but the door. The lore card that hooked me was a d1 mysteries card!

I’ve chased down identity for this card through reading the lore drops for years after reading this one card. It may be responsible for all of my purchases and raids and grandmasters and all kinda shit I never would have done. And it pairs super well with your post oP

Sorry to drop a personalized book on your post but I just wanted to express that I think it was dope bc a bulk of it had to deal with the second card in the series of cards that are probably responsible for me not putting destiny down a year in. It’s dope
