(Spoilers Extended) Game of Thrones Season 6, Episode 8: No One Post-Episode Discussion (UK)

I felt that was an episode of two halves (or two thirds and another third.) It started to lose focus after the Riverrun escape scene, which would have made a perfect ending in my opinion. The Hound's scenes and lines were amazing as always, although the banter with the Brotherhood felt a bit forced (or poorly scripted) which is a shame because they're among my favourite characters. Not complaining though, I like that the Hound hasn't lost all his spunk, but is more relatable and less hate-filled whilst still being a double-hard, mean bastard.

Arya's storyline has jumped the shark a little, but let's not pretend she hasn't in the books too. When your high-fantasy heroine starts her ninja training, you know things have gone a little off-script to be fair. Let's not also pretend that there aren't show only people sat at home cheering her when she told Jaqen her true name and where she was going. It was cheesy but probably a crowd pleaser outside of places like this.

Tyrion is wasted in Mereen, his scene with Varys was really touching but now we won't even have that. I initially thought Dany might burn the Master's ships, but maybe she'll find a way to steal them instead? Maybe the Iron Fleet will sail up their arse and fuck them, who can say?

I've got a feeling that Ser Robert Strong is going to burn to death. They've made it pretty clear that he isn't injured easily, it seems like a fitting end to the man who burned his little brother's face off for playing with his toys. That and the fact that he's half-zombie and fire kills zombies.

Cersei is pretty buggered at this point. The High Sparrow has obviously gotten Tommen to ban trial by combat because Lancel reported back what SRS can do with his bare hands. She's guilty as sin, Lancel can attest to that and he'll be believed.

All in all, we live in interesting times!
