Survey asks 500 British Muslims: "Are homosexuals morally acceptable in any way?" None of the 500 said yes.

Just because you're morally against something does not mean you want to end it with hate. I morally object to homosexuality and I am a Muslim. I don't think it's ok. But I also believe in freedom and tolerance. I have a right to feel however I want to feel. I also understand that a gay person has the right to feel however he wants to feel. That is not my place to judge; all I have to say on the subject is he has the freedom to live his life as he pleases. And as an American I have a civic duty to tolerate his freedom. To morally object does not equal bigotry and hate. Why do I have to morally believe that something is ok? Why do I have to conform to what the social norm is? Why am I not allowed to believe whatever I want to believe? This is one of the major principals of our country. This is what our country was built on. It is not American to say gays/lesbians are not free to do what they want; they are. They are given that freedom with citizenship. But I do not have to agree with it. I do not have to say I think it's ok and I approve of it. I don't have to say anything I do not want too. I have to tolerate what I don't like though. Tolerance. What a concept. To tolerate. What a mature approach to anything. Ok; maybe you hate Muslims. Maybe you hate everything my religion has to stand for. Maybe you hate how some people who claim to be of my religion do radical things. And I understand why you believe these things. If I were a non Muslim growing up in America; I honestly would object to Islam as well. I mean how could I not? Every time you hear of a terrible thing happen people with middle eastern names are responsible. They quote the Quran to justify their actions. Our beliefs and punishments are strict. Death for adultery, cutting off the hands in punishment for thievery. Not to mention our stance on gays, women (covering), and alcohol. That sounds like a religion that has violence and hatred written all over it. Now, I believe all these things. But I also believe it is not my right to impose my believes on to a person. So in essence what I am saying is that if I want to practice sharia law and suffer the consequences of it, that is my right. Now is it my right to impose sharia law on you? Absolutely not. I think this is the main solution in the Middle East. Have people who want sharia law stating they want to live under the laws of the prophet. Otherwise the people live under common law, where they have the freedom to live as they please. That means Muslims have to tolerate the things they morally object too. That's the only way to progress. So yes, I do believe my side needs some changes. But your side does too. To label me because of my religion and my believes is not American. You have to tolerate them as well. And I have the freedom to practice it however I want too (non violently) of course. You do not combat these things with hate. But with tolerance. I don't understand how you can me keep preaching hate and expect peace. Everyone on this sub probably hates my people. That's you're right too. You probably morally object to Islam. If you polled 500 Donald trump supporters and asked them "do you morally object to Islam" you'd get the same results as the poll taken here. So now freedom of religion is below freedom of gays? Are they not equal? I have to tolerate gays but you don't have to tolerate my religion? Yes, my religion may seem terrible to you, but if I practice peacefully I still have to be subject to religious profiling? And at the same time watch you ride your progressive high horse. I tolerate gays, and any American has to as well. I don't have to believe that it's ok though. You're going to take my freedom to believe something and throw it in my face and call me a bigot? Humorous. You know what, Donald probably will be the next president. My religious freedoms will probably be subject to a lot of change. I'm not going to lie I'm very scared. Because he perpetuates hate. "Look what they believe, they're bad, lets hate them, they're the problem". If that's how you want to think that's your right. I just don't see how it makes any sense im sorry.
