Taming a pre-owned, unhappy, biting hamster

Definitely second the gloves recommendation. My hamster has definitely grown adjusted to me since I adopted her in December but I’m still not comfortable handling her without gloves because she is a biter! She lets me pet her with my bare hand now and runs over to crawl into my gloved hand so she’s definitely grown to trust me more over time. I just started out by offering her food and she gradually started trusting me more. I would stop giving treats when she bit me and it seemed to correlate to her learning not to go for a bite when I offer treats but I’m not sure if it was just coincidental or not haha. Just remember to remain patient and respect his boundaries, OP :)
