I'm gonna disagree with the "not a fetish" part from experience. I've met a LOT of furries online, and a fair number in person, not to mention being one. If someone isn't in it for the porn, there's a 90% chance they're asexual and aren't into ANYTHING for the porn.

My main issue is that there's really nothing wrong with that. Yiff is often wholesome stuff, to the point where it's somewhat dangerous if you value your sexual orientation as ALL the characters - male and female - are cute and expressive.

The main reason we argue that it's not a kink is (primarily) because in the US we've got a real problem with puritan morality. If you so much as MENTION the idea that you're a sexual deviant (or often are even sexual at all) then people go apeshit. Telling people it's not a kink softens their mental armor long enough for the furry pathogen to take hold, and once they're in deep enough to discover the truth they're beyond the point of caring.
