Tesla must pay ex-worker $15 million for “disturbing” racist abuse, judge rules

So then what do black people who (recently) move to America from anywhere else call themselves? I'm black, not African, and wouldn't feel right being called African-American. Do you not have a category that just says black?

Also, why are they called African-American when they're not all from Africa (Pretty sure some are from the Caribbean)

why black Americans are called African-American when white people aren't called Slovakian-American, German-American etc unless they're a recent immigrant where that makes sense (maybe white Americans write European-American on government forms? )

What do you call a Moroccan or Somali immigrant as they don't fit quoted statement you've written, even though they're an African who'd become American (and that's before recognising some Moroccans don't like being considered African)?

What would you call a Brazilian immigrant (versus Latin American) and would there be a difference if they are white/black/japanese etc?

I don't ask these questions with malicious/cocky intent, I just wonder America would label such people.
